To proclaim and display the sufficiency and supremacy of Jesus Christ in all things (Colossians 1:15-20, 28)
- Exalt the Lord Jesus Christ by preaching His Word (Col. 1:28)
- Make disciples (Matt. 28:19)
- Plant Gospel-centered churches (Acts 9:31)
These three core values serve as the engine that drives the train of Gospel advance in the city of Detroit.
By preaching God's Word, we mean the public reading and expounding of the truth of God. Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the Word of God (Rom. 10:17). The only way the Gospel is going to be believed and its commands followed is through preaching the Word of God.
By discipleship, we mean intentionally and strategically walking alongside believers to form Jesus in them. The desire is to present everyone fully mature in Christ (Col. 1:28). Discipleship should be understood as a sharing of one's life with a brother/sister for the sake of growth and conformity to Jesus. Discipleship is the place where life is shared and theological truth is cemented in the heart and mind of the believer.
By planting churches, we mean multiplying local, indigenous churches for the purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
