Dear Bereans,
"Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace." I Peter 3:14
Peter, near the end of his second epistle, reminds his readers that the end of things as we know it will come one day. He encourages them in the verses above to be found by Jesus Christ, at His return, without spot or blemish, and at peace. We know this is only possible because we have been washed white as snow (Isaiah 1:18) and have peace that passes understanding (Philippians 4:7), all because of Jesus. Prior to this reminder that all things as we know them here will come to an end including the heavens and the earth. He also tells us that all the works done on the earth will be exposed. This is followed by an encouragement to live lives of holiness and works of Godliness so we are found sanctified, living as those watching for our Lord's return.
My encouragement to you today is to love the Lord, love each other, obey God, and keep his commandments. Also, while we wait for the end of all things and our forever new beginning, live as those who are found without blemish. Peace be unto you and among you.
With love,
Pastor Mark
