Beloved Bereans,
Changes abound in our lives. Even during seasons of perceived stability changes are ever around us. Some things come about by surprise and others we can watch slowly evolve. If you have lived for a bit, you have certainly learned to negotiate change. Adjusting, accepting, and adapting are required by us all. It has been said: “the ultimate end of change is death”. Well, I’m pleased to inform the person quoted, that there is even change after death! Entering the eternal state will yield our destiny based on where we stand with Jesus Christ. It will be different from here!
Thankfully, the author of Hebrews reminds us in chapter 13 that: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (v.8). So, in the whole of the Christian life, regardless of the change, even when uncertainty strikes, we can go to Jesus. He hasn’t and won’t change, He never has and never will. Jesus is the unmovable key to living the Christian life. Despite what changes around us, I’m grateful that we have a dependable Savior to look to and trust, leading us always Godward.
With love,
Pastor Mark
